Groups
Groups are a BullMQ Pro feature that splits a queue's jobs into separate groups, for example one per customer, and processes the groups fairly so one busy group can't starve the others. Each group can also have its own rate limit and maximum concurrency.
The Groups tab of a queue shows every group, how many jobs it holds and which state it's in. It's only shown for BullMQ Pro queues.
Group states
Groups are split into four tabs, each with the number of groups in that state:
| Tab | Groups that are |
|---|---|
| Waiting | Waiting to have their jobs processed |
| Limited | Temporarily held back by their rate limit |
| Maxed | Processing as many jobs at once as their concurrency allows |
| Paused | Paused, their jobs won't be processed until resumed |
The table in each tab lists the group ID and the number of jobs in the group. Use the refresh button next to the tabs to reload the counts.
Browse a group's jobs
Click a group to list its jobs, with each job's ID, name and when it was added. Expand a job to see its options, data, return value, error and stack trace, the same details as in the Jobs tab.
From the jobs list you can remove a job, and edit the data of jobs that are waiting, delayed or failed.
Group actions
Select one or more groups with the checkboxes, then open the actions menu at the top of the table:
- Pause stops the selected groups from being processed. Their jobs stay in the group until you resume it.
- Resume is shown in the Paused tab and lets the selected groups be processed again.
- Repair is shown in the Maxed tab. Use it when a group stays in the maxed state even though none of its jobs are being processed. It lets the group be processed again.
- Remove deletes the selected groups and their jobs.
The Remove all groups button next to the tabs removes every group in the queue.
DANGER
Removing groups also removes all the jobs in them. This can't be undone.
